I am pleased to write a referral for Mending Hearts Home Care Inc.

Colleen was originally recommended to me, amongst other PSW companies, by a healthcare agency.

After talking to multiple companies, there were several things about Colleen and her staff that stood out. Colleen, and all her employees, are all certified. Safety is paramount. She makes sure that everyone in her employ is trained on each piece of equipment they use so that her clients are safe. Her rates are competitive, and her care is exceptional Her initial visit was to meet my father and determine which of her employees was best suited to my father’s personality and needs. My father is a very challenging man to please, but she matched him with an employee who met his expectations.My original request was for someone to come in to provide general care for my father, a few days each week. Many PSW companies limit their services to health care. Colleen was able to provide a plethora of services: personal care, housekeeping, grocery shopping, running errands, meal preparation, and companionship for my father. As dad’s needs increased, Colleen was able to accommodate them. When he needed 24/7 care, Colleen provided him with a PSW around the clock. Dad reached a point where he needed assistance with all aspects of his life her employees made dad comfortable enough that they could shower him and do daily tasks with ease. He was not a good housekeeper, so when they assumed responsibility for his housekeeping duties, they took over a house that needed significant work to bring it to an acceptable level of cleanliness, and they maintained that new standard. We had most grocery items delivered to dad’s house, but when additional items were needed, Colleen took responsibility for their purchase and delivery. Dad liked the meals offered to him; they made lots of meals that were appealing to him and accommodated his special diet.He enjoyed their companionship. Everyone treated dad with respect, and he enjoyed the time that they had to just chat with him. Colleen was in touch with me daily. Even though I live several hours away, I always knew exactly what was going on with Dad. Colleen and her staff were always professional, and I was very comfortable leaving dad in their care.

Mending Hearts is a wonderful resource that has helped me manage the care for my mom in their family home. The PSW's have been properly screened and trained. They are very dependable also arrives on time. They are flexible and always willing to help. Colleen makes sure care is covered for my mom on short notice even to cover special events that my dad & I might want to attend. They love to be busy and will pitch in to help on any household jobs, they even cleaned and organized the pantry. They roll up their sleeves and provide excellent personal care including nail trimming, They are compassionate and friendly caregivers with a great sense of humor. They have just expanded their services to be able to develop a physiotherapy plan for my mom which is the key to the overall patient's well-being. I would defiantly recommend their services to keep their loved ones in their home.
